Romance blossoms despite the recession |
|
Wedding plans are not greatly impacted by the recession, a recent survey on WeddingsOnline.ie revealed. The survey found that even though 62% of couples have had a reduction in salary; they agree the recession is a great time to get married. Just over 50% of couples are funding their wedding themselves, while 49% said they will be taking out a loan to pay for their big day. The gift of choice by over half of brides and grooms was money, with just 6% saying they have a gift list. Findings showed that wedding budgets are lower overall, but most couples will still spend over 20k on their wedding, with 40% spending over 25k. When asked what the priority is when booking a wedding supplier, brides and grooms said that the value for money was more important than finding the lowest price. Most engaged couples are saving upwards of 10% on their wedding with recession discounts. |
